Took a nice run with the wife and kids this afternoon.  The weather was nice and cool.  My legs are feeling really good after my 51 miler ride this last weekend.

Had class today at Weber State so I took some running cloths to run on their indoor track between classes..  I did a 1 1/2 warm up and then a temp mile at 7:35.  If felt great to run that fast again.  It has been along time since I ran that pace.

ran 3.5 miles with laurie and the kids. It was slow going because natalie wanted to ride her bike. Most of the time she does great. I don't know what the deal was today. If you want more info look at Lauries' blog.

I then ran one more mile by my self and if felt great to pick up the pace. I felt the knee alittle but I strechted it any time I could.

I went and rode my bike to day with a group. We met in Wanship about 8:30 and headed north to Coalville. One thing I have notice about bikers is that they don't start early. Yes it is cold, but so what. How my bikers do you see put riding in the winter? Not many. Even if the roads are clear they are still not out. Any day of the year you will find a runner out braving the storms.

In Coalville we took a right turn and headed northeast. Boy was it hilly and it killed me. Most of the ride was rolling hills and but more ups on the way out. I kept up with the group till about mile 25. The last 5 mile befor the turn about were all up hill and my legs were already shot. The turn about was at the Utah/Wyoming border.

The ride back was much better, thank goodness. It took us 3 hours to do the first 30 miles and only 2 to do the last 30. The 60 mile ride took a lot longer than I thought it would. I got home at 2:40 and had to be at work at 3:30. My legs are really tired and the rest of my body. I worked till 12:00am last night and then got up at 6 to get ready for the ride. What can I do? Its my own fault that I wanted to get up and ride this moring. Only 2 more weeks till the century. I am as ready as I will be for this race. I might do a the Portland marathon the weekend after the Century. I will have to wait and see how I feel and if my knee will let me.

I had a great run today.  This is the fastest 4 miles I have run since before the injury and I did it with out any pain.   This is a first in along time.  I am so glad that things are finally doing better.   I don't even feel like I biked 60 miles this last weekend.  My quads are a little tight but feel good.

Mile 1- 7:15

Mile 2- 7:32

Mile 3- 7:17

Mile 4- 8:42

The last mile I took easy because I was out of breath.

It's another bike to work day.  I felt a little tired on the way to work but mostly my quads.   I did the 10 miles in 38 min.

Clinical went great today.  I did a IVC filter placement by my self.

The ride how was great.  I did it 6 mins faster then on the way to work.  I thought I had more down hill on the way there.  I guess I am wrong.   I ave. 18.3 mph.

After working till mid night I got up about 8:30 and finally got out the door around 10:00am.  I ran 5 miles with Laurie pushing the kids.  I then ran 3 more by my self.  I picked up the pace and felt it in my legs.  This is my longest run since the knee injury and my knee felt great.

Race: Heber Valley Century "BIKE" (100 Miles) 00:07:00

Got up at 5:30 and it was a chili morning. Loaded up my gear and the bikes. Brandon (good friend) got to my place at about 6:00 and we where on our way to Heber. The race started at a park about 100 s and 1000 w. This park is the last major exchange for the WB Relay. We wanted to get an early start but that didn't happen. The race started at 8:00am. The first 9 miles was very easy and slightly down hill. Then we had this big climb up to soldier hollow. This was my first awakening that the day was not going to be all fun and games. On the way down Brandon was going a little fast and couldn’t brake fast enough and ended up in a ditch with a bent front will.  It wasn’t bent just a little, he broke the main frame of the rim.  We hitch a ride with support back to the start and headed to the only bike store in town.

The bike store was not help.  The rims they had were either the wrong one or way too much money for Brandon’s’ budget.  So I did the rest of the ride with out him.  Boy does that suck to Krash in the first 10 miles of a century.  At least I didn’t krash too.

I left the start to try and ketch up with some of the other riders.  I took main st. out of Heber north until I met up with the course.  It was now 10:30 ish and I didn’t want to be out on my bike all day.  In the end I only cut off about 4 miles.  Once I met make up with the course the next 2-3 miles were all up hill and it hurt.  The course went through Frances, Kamus, Okley, Wanship, and almost to Coalville.  On the way back the route went some different way and I was happy for that because some of the hills I came down doing 35-40 mph I didn’t have to go back up.  At about mile 94 I hit the top of that killer hill I had to climb up.  Max speed down that hill was 44.9 mph.  I feared for my life just abit when my bike started to shake as I increased my speed down the hill.

I finished around 4:30 but actually out on the road for about 7 hours.  I had a blast and the view was relaxing.  Biking has helped me relieve my need to run and has been a great cross trainer.  I think I will keep it up and do another century next year.  If any one wants to join me let me know.
